This morning when I arrived at work, and I checked my personal email (what else to do upon arriving at work?), I had an email from Mike Schmidt asking for the President's Corner for June. Eeek, I actually forgot this month! For all these years, I don't think that's actually happened before, as far as I can remember. Sorry Mike! So here we are. And, I just sent in a whole bunch of news items, mostly new stuff for the ST/Falcon. We seem to mostly focus on the 8-bits around here, so you ST and Falcon users should be enjoying this change of pace! Thanks, keep using that Atari, and come to your next SPACE meeting, Friday June 13, 2008.

Still a healthy balance and the only expense I can see in the near future is our web-site monthly fee and the Newsletter expense for the last year. I need to get an e-mail to Mike Schmidt to get his bill since last May 2007. We need to plan our July SPACE birthday party next month so it would be great if we had a good turnout for the June SPACE meeting. I would like to hold another auction for the July meeting so I am hoping for a good turnout this year for our birthday party. See you all next month.

Every year for the May Space meeting we overshadowed by Mother's Day weekend. And we all know that Mother's Day weekend also means opening fishing. With all that we still had five members present and that represents fifty percent of our total membership which wasn't bad at all. It looks like our web-site is going to be revamped with the help of Nolan and Michael and we look forward to the new changes. It was nice to see Nolan back after his return from Florida. We missed his web-site reporting the last few months during his absence. Glen brought in a great Dom for the May meeting and my son, Tony and Nolan got into quite a competition with a game called BELLJU1K where you hop onto bells as long as you can without hitting bottom. This game was so addictive that Nolan bought his first Dom in a long long time. Don't forget to get this Dom the next meeting you can attend.
Well, hello again fellow Atarians. Here I am with another Secretary's Report. It is an honour to serve the Report to you all. It was great to see Nolan Friedland again. Welcome back, Nolan, and we hope that you are all right. Anyway, I am glad that the treasury is going strong and that things are well with that. Even with the few guys that were at the May meeting, we had a good time and a lot of fun, especially with that addictive DOM that Glen provided (thanks again, Glen). It was, overall, positive as always. That concludes the Report. Thanks for reading, keep that using that Atari, and see you next meeting.

(Nasdaq: ATAR), an interactive entertainment company, announced today that on May 7, 2008 it received a letter from The Nasdaq Stock Market stating that a Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Panel has determined to delist Atari, Inc.'s securities from the Nasdaq Global Market and will suspend trading of Atari, Inc.'s shares effective on the opening of business on May 9, 2008. Atari, Inc. plans to request a review from the Nasdaq Listing and Hearing Review Council, which could alter or dismiss the Panel's determination. However, such a request will not delay the suspension of trading. Atari, Inc. now expects to be quoted on the Pink Sheets, an electronic quotation service maintained by Pink Sheets LLC. The Pink Sheets allow continued trading of securities of delisted companies. Atari, Inc. expects its common stock to be traded on the Pink Sheets under the symbol "ATAR" or "ATAR.PK". Atari, Inc.'s common stock may also be quoted on the OTC Bulletin Board(R), a regulated quotation service for over-thecounter securities, provided one or more market makers apply to quote Atari, Inc.'s securities. (Euronext - ISIN: FR-0010478248) ("Infogrames" or "the Group") and Atari, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATAR) ("Atari") today announced that they have reached a definitive agreement to merge. The agreement: -- brings to a close a period of financial underperformance for Atari; -- strengthens Atari under Infogrames' new management team; -- delivers a platform for future growth in the US; and -- offers Atari shareholders an all cash exit. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Infogrames will acquire the remaining outstanding equity interests of Atari (other than shares of common stock held by Infogrames or its affiliates, which would be cancelled) for US$1.68 per share, equivalent to a cash payment of approximately US$11 million. Infogrames is currently the majority shareholder in Atari holding approximately 51.4%. Following the merger, Atari will be a whollyowned subsidiary of Infogrames. The Special Committee also considered the effects of Infogrames' controlling interest, the risk that the transaction will not be completed, the premium to Atari's share price 30 days prior to the date of Infogrames' offer, and the willingness of Infogrames to extend a loan of up to $20 million to Atari to cover expected capital requirements. The transaction is subject to a number of customary conditions, including the approval of the holders of a majority of outstanding shares. - Fixed the handling of the initial keystroke. - Added a curses (text-based) front-end. - GTIA artifacts now support various GTIA models. - GTIA supports now user-defined color maps. - The GUI can now be used entirely by the keyboard or the joystick, use the cursor keys to move the pointer from gadget to gadget and press RETURN to click on an object. - Added a RelMouseStick input device that reacts on the relative mouse movements rather than its abstract position. - Fixed the POKEY audio muting, it is now able to detect situations in which a lower mixing frequency is audible even though the channel itself is not. - Fixed initial timing/speed setting, could have caused audio-drop outs or slow play-back.

Today Paradox finally released their winning 'Again' Outline 2008 demo (or actually it's a 96k intro). As you have gotten used to by now, Paradox lines up a number of BLiTTER-intensive effects as well as a great soundtrack from 505. The intro needs a 1MB STe at the least. Outline 2008 releases quick roundup

The fifth Outline party ended today and releases have started to come in. There were four demos/intros for ST machines including new ones from Paradox, Lineout and Checkpoint. Further on there were a number of bootsector intros, music and graphic contributions. Some of the releases are collected on our download page for Outline 2008. The winning Paradox demo is said to be available later after some bugfixing have been made.

Grazey of PHF writes: 125 new SNDH files! 10 months since the last update! Shocking! I hear you say, but there are reasons (see the full readme for info). Again a wild bunch of tunes, brand new Outline tunes, a weird mixture of exotic old stuff and finally the T1000 tunes :) The Cream guys have even released an updated plug-in for Winjam which allows you to play new SNDH-Digi tunes.
