September 2019 Edition
I came across a reference recently that led me to change my mind about the early black version of the 850 interface, the ones housed in a black anodized aluminum case. I used to think those were only prototypes, but now it seems clear that really was the original production version. Have you ever seen one? Do you have one? They seem to be quite uncommon, but out there! Thanks, keep using that Atari, and come to your next SPACE meeting: Friday, September 13, 2019.

With Lance, Steve and Brian unable to find transportation to the August meeting, it would normally be just Glen and myself attending. But, to my pleasant surprise, Rich and Roger both showed up to make the August meeting another interesting meeting. It was very technical and way, way, over my head, but it made me realize that I should know a lot more than I really do. It was nice to learn that the Miers are so into the Atari 8-bits and it gives our members another source for Atari technology. Rich had questions for Lance, so it was unfortunate that Lance couldn’t make it to the August meeting. I hope with the distance our members have to travel that we can get all our Minnesota members together at a future meeting. Thanks to all our members who attended the Atari Birthday party in July. We all had a great time and had plenty to eat. Rich and I both bought an 8-bit DOM for a total of $6.00 in August. Added to our beginning bank balance of $610.54, we ended the month of August with a new balance of $616.54. As you can see we have both 2019 and 2020 room rental fees covered already, with a couple of good months ahead that will bring membership renewals due including my own.
HELLO WORLD! Even though I was unable to get to the August SPACE meeting, I will write a Secretary’s Report, as I always do. So, here it is. I am glad that it was a successful meeting in August. I plan to be at the September meeting. If people show up again, like last time, I have some questions for them, as I am inquisitive about my Mega STE and how to enhance it. If anybody has ideas, please feel free to let me know. So, again, I am sorry for not being at the last SPACE meeting. I am also aware that my membership is due to be paid in October. Rest assured, I will renew it. I want to continue to be the Secretary and keep publishing the Newsletters. It is a privilege and an honor to do so. Thanks for the opportunities. TRIVIA TIME! The 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) has a 6502-based architecture, just like the Atari 8-bit computers and the 5200.
